I.T. scores points by tagging invaders while invaders score points by kicking the Cosmic Can – and get bonus points if it lands on their color. Your upgrade to the classic has arrived!

Pick Your Color

Select from 5 options: green, blue, yellow, white or magenta. Players may choose the same color
Choose Playing Zone

Ensure everyone knows its borders and that it's free of tripping hazards
Place the Cosmic Can

Be sure that it can’t be kicked anywhere that would damage property
Oldest Player Starts

Or start with the most athletic player; games become easier as players fatigue and develop tactics

I.T. Tags Invaders

Don't let them kick the can! Tagged invaders must go to the furthest border before resuming play
Kick the Cosmic Can

Invaders attempt to kick the Cosmic Can without being tagged
Watch it Land

Once kicked, all player watch to see if Cosmic Can stops on their chosen color
Rotate the I.T.

Tally points (if counting) and rotate to the next oldest player as "I.T.." until everyone has gone

The I.T. player earns one point for each Invader they tag who is at least 10 feet away from the Cosmic Can

The Can Stops on Your Color

If the Cosmic Can lands on your color after it stops bounding and rolling, you receive a point

We live on a cul-de-sac and are thinking about bringing it on vacation. Can we play on asphalt? What about the beach?

The Cosmic Can is designed to be kicked hundreds of times and land on all sorts of surfaces. For extending it's life, the best playing surface is grass – but it can be played elsewhere and the beach especially dynamic!
How big of a space do you need to play?

So long as there’s room to run and nothing will be damaged when the can is kicked, you can play just about anywhere, from backyards to gyms to campgrounds
Can we play during the day or just at night?

The mechanics of the game remain the same regardless of time of day. One common use is to start while it’s light out and then keep playing into the evening when the Cosmic Can really shines
How hard is it to replace the batteries?

The can includes 3 LR44 batteries (which are fairly common “coin” batteries). For child safety reason, a small screwdriver is required to remove them. You can see how easy they are to remove in the video above
Can the game be adapted for a smaller number of players or played in teams?

For “kick the can,” 4+ players are optimal. For smaller groups, try using the spaceship for games like “keep away” or hacky sack. Playing in teams is great, though we recommend three teams in order to keep the I.T. players outnumbered."
